Chairman Canon Huang Ranked No. 62 in the 2022 Taiwan Top 100 Best-Performing Business Leaders by Harvard Business Review

Harvard Business Review released its biennial “Taiwan Top 100 Best-Performing Business Leaders” on August 31. Ranked No. 62, CWE Chairman Canon Huang has delivered a total shareholder return of 773% with a cumulative growth in market capitalization of NT$21.7 billion and an average EPS of NT$2.16 per quarter during his time on the job.

The global traditional Chinese version of Harvard Business Review has released the Taiwan Top 100 Best-Performing Business Leaders list every two years since 2016. The latest ranking announced this year adopted four metrics for the calculation, i.e., amount of growth in market capitalization during the CEO’s tenure, cumulative total shareholder returns during the CEO’s tenure, average quarterly earnings per share during the CEO’s tenure and ESG performance, recognizing entrepreneurs with outstanding performance in terms of business performance and corporate sustainability.

The Harvard Business Review survey targets listed companies and adopts a methodology with reference to its U.S. headquarters. It begins with selecting the top 300 companies in terms of market capitalization using data of the Taiwan Stock Exchange, and CEOs who remain in office on April 30, 2022. The criteria include companies which have been listed on TWSE for more than two years as well as CEOs who have been in the job for more than two years and have not been involved with significant regulatory concerns. CEOs with no dividend payouts during their tenure are excluded.
