Chang Wah Electromaterials Inc. (Chang Wah*, 8070) today held a Board meeting and approved the independent auditors' reviewed consolidated financial statements for the second quarter and first half of 2026. Second-quarter consolidated revenue reached a record quarterly high, with operating profit also improving. Net profit attributable to owners of the Corporation reached NT$550 million, with earnings per share (EPS) coming in at NT$0.78, marking significant quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year growth.
Driven by steady market demand, sustained customer demand, and price increases for select products, Chang Wah's second-quarter consolidated revenue totaled NT$6,129 million, up 13% quarter-over-quarter and 29% year-over-year, setting a new quarterly record. As market demand continued to recover and shipments increased, gross profit for the quarter rose 17% sequentially and 41% from the same period last year. Supported by an improved product mix and effective cost control, profit from operations increased 11% quarter-over-quarter and 38% year-over-year, reflecting the continued solid growth in its core business.
Net profit attributable to owners of the Corporation for the second quarter totaled NT$550 million. Calculated based on a par value of NT$1 per share, second-quarter EPS was NT$0.78, improving from NT$0.51 in the previous quarter and NT$0.16 in the same period last year.
First-Half Consolidated Performance
In the first half of the year, supported by strong demand for networking, industrial control applications and advanced packaging equipment, together with the benefits of product price increases, revenue from key product lines, including IC lead frames, substrates and EME, increased significantly. Consequently, Chang Wah's consolidated revenue exceeded NT$10 billion, reaching NT$11,552 million, a record high for the same period in the Company's history. Gross profit reached NT$2,176 million, up 29% year-over-year, while profit from operations increased 36% year-over-year to NT$1,387 million. Net profit attributable to owners of the Corporation totaled NT$912 million, with EPS of NT$1.30, compared with NT$0.63 in the same period last year.
In addition, Chang Wah recorded total gains from equity investments of approximately NT$9,039 million in the first half of the year, including realized capital gains of approximately NT$917 million. As of the end of June, the market value of the Corporation's equity portfolio had increased by approximately NT$8,123 million compared with the end of last year, representing unrealized valuation gains. This reflects the continued strength of the Company's overall investment portfolio and provides greater flexibility to support dividend distributions and future investments in response to market conditions and capital requirements, thereby enhancing its financial flexibility.
