CWE Group Subsidiary Chang Wah Technology Co., Ltd. (CWTC) Contracts with Gogoro to Subsidize Employees for Switching to Electric Scooters, Taking Actions in Response to Energy Saving and Carbon Reduction

CWE Group Subsidiary CWTC encourages and subsidizes its employees for switching to electric scooters in order to fulfill its role in protecting the environment. It sought support from the renowned domestic electric scooter manufacturer Gogoro and held the signing ceremony on October 6, 2022. CWTC Chairman Canon Huang and President Chuen-Sing Hung attended the event, taking actions in response to energy saving and carbon reduction.

Considering the fact that the majority of employees use scooters as the means of commuting, CWTC specially formulates the subsidy plan to encourage and subsidize employees for adopting an eco-friendly means of transportation. A subsidy of NT$30,000 per scooter is available to employees, and it is estimated that a total of 150 scooters would be subsidized in 2022.

As part of the semiconductor supply chain, CWTC is fully aware of the significant and far-reaching impact of production on the environment, and is therefore making multidimensional efforts to achieve environmental protection and energy conservation. Although electricity consumption increased in 2021 compared to 2020 due to capacity expansion, the electricity intensity dropped 18%, demonstrating that CWTC had achieved efficient energy management. Furthermore, in line with the government's promotion of renewable energy, CWTC increases the use of solar panels at its Kaohsiung plant to provide 4% of the required electricity by 2022 as part of its efforts to fulfill its responsibilities as a global citizen and a corporation.
