CWE Group Orders 252 Boxes of Pomelo for Mid-Autumn Festival

With the Mid-Autumn Festival just around the corner, eating pomelo has become a main feature besides enjoying the full moon and mooncakes on the day of family reunion. On top of having its harvesting season around the Mid-Autum Festival, pomelo sounds like the Chinese characters for people living or traveling far from home. Therefore, having pomelo on the festival is symbolic of hoping all family members can be reunited at home. Also, the pronunciation of pomelo is similar to the word for blessing and protection in Mandarin; thus, enjoying the fruit is a way of wishing family members safety and all the best.

This year, CWE Group ordered 252 boxes of pomelo from the Agricultural Technology Research Institute as gifts for Group employees. In addition to relieving pomelo farmers from the pressure of oversupply as part of the corporate social responsibility, the big and round pomelo was chosen because the Group wishes each and every employee "good prosperity and a happy reunion".
